The joy of delivering your baby is one emotion you’ll remember for a lifetime. Expectant mothers, fathers and siblings arrive, thrilled to welcome a new family member into the world.
We’re delighted you have selected us to help guide you through this miraculous experience. Our goal is for you to have a happy and comfortable delivery and to help you prepare to take care of yourself and your baby once you’re settled back home.

Registering at BMH
To register for Parenting Classes, call (843) 522-5570. You can also register by e-mailing Dixie Slichter at dlslichter@bmhsc.org.
When you register, you will be informed of the date, time and cost of your classes, and what you need to bring with you. The cost for each class varies from free to $50. Bring a check or cash with you when you join your class. We look forward to seeing you at our Parenting Classes.
Insurance
To meet precertification requirements, notify your insurance company of your upcoming birth as soon as possible. You will also need to contact your insurance company within two days of delivery to add your child to your insurance policy. Some insurance companies allow up to 30 days; however, we file our papers five days after your discharge.
Hospital Tours
One of the best ways to take some of the mystery out of your birthing experience is to visit our Birthing Center. Learn what to expect and meet some of our wonderful staff. Scheduled tours are offered the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings of every month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This is a FREE service. NO RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Just report to the Birthing Center lobby and let them know at the desk that you are there for the tour. Children under 14 are not allowed to take part in the tour program.
